So, you know how on Top Chef if they are behind in creating their dishes, they say they are ‘in the weeds’. Well, when it comes to blogging my sessions I am definitely in the weeds! I have so many fun sessions to share, and first up is this beautiful family celebrating their baby boy’s first birthday. Well, I guess he is not technically a baby anymore (although if Mom reads that she may just cry)! A big thank you to this fam for a great evening in one of my favorites spots!!!
Lately whenever my daughter really likes someone she says she is ‘crushing on them’. Well, I was definitely crushing on this family a few weeks ago when I finally had the chance to meet their new baby girl! She is beautiful, just like her big sis!!! I love watching families grow and expand throughout the years, and having the privilage to document these special moments for them…
Our little girl started Kindergarten today! I have to say that both Dylan and I have been nothing but excited about the new ‘big kids school’. However, when we got there everything seemed SO big all of a sudden. The bell started chiming and huge kids started runnning by with backpacks that were even bigger than they were. I heard a little voice say ‘Mommy, I’m nervous’. Gulp. That made two of us.
Thank goodness the first day parents were aloud to tag along. After about 30 seconds in her classroom, Dylan was feeling right at home. In fact, I could tell that she REALLY loved it! Her favorite activity was the math table. So happy, because let’s just say that coloring isn’t really her thing (notice I didn’t take a picture of her drawing). :) We like already made shapes instead!
Seeing Dylan excited and happy to be at her new school made it seem not so big by the end of the day. Wishing everyone a very happy school year, and please wish us luck with our first drop-off day tomorrow. :)
Back to School Minis were so much fun this year! I offered them to past clients for free as a big THANKYOU for allowing me to capture their most precious moments over the past few years. First up…adorable Ace. I’m thinking he’s going to melt some little girls’ hearts someday (and how cute is he in his little fedora???). :)
A newport beach photo session filled with tons of laughing, running, and balloons? Yes, please! Oh, and I got to see a friend from high school, too!!! I had the best time with this amazing family, and Mom and Dad are definitely Super Parents! Raising four sweet kids that listen so well and love each other so much…that calls for a gold medal, right??? It was great to see you all, and I hope you enjoy your pics. :)
I love (LOVE) so many photos from this session, so I am going to keep this short and sweet and just say a huge THANKYOU to this family for trusting me with this location (and putting up with 100 million gnats that seemed to swarm around us the entire time)! You made the afternoon so much fun, and I always have a great time whenever I get to see you. I hope you enjoy your pics! :)
I have a pretty strict rule when it comes to photos at the beach…no mid-day sessions…it’s just too bright! Well, if you know Sarah, then you know that she doesn’t really give up when she hears the word ‘no’. :) She was determined to take some family pics by the beach, but baby Brooklan just doesn’t stay up until sunset hour. What to do? Well, let’s just say Sarah won this one, and I’m so glad she did as these ended up being some of my favs!!!
If you’re like me, you LOVE your little one’s sweet face in their school pictures, but cringe at the cheesy 1980’s background. Last year I took some photos of Dylan in her back-to-school outfit a few days before she started back and promised to make it a yearly tradition. As I started thinking about this year’s pics, I realized that it was a great opportunity to tell my clients THANKYOU, THANKYOU, THANKYOU for supporting this little business of mine. SO….
This year I am offering FREE Back-To-School Mini’s for 10 kiddos (yes, you read that right)!!! If you want your kids to participate, please email me asap to reserve your spot before they are gone:
In the subject line, type ‘Back To School Minis’ and then in your email, let me know how many kids you would like to have photographed. The first 10 names I receive via email will get 5 free digital images!!!
Here’s the fine print:
Back-To-School Mini’s will be on August 17th in Ladera Ranch from 5pm-7:30pm (times will be assigned on a first come/first serve basis and no make-up days or times will be available)
Sessions will last 10-15 minutes for each child
Themed props will be available for use including a toddler desk, chalkboard to write the grade level/teacher’s name/school name, and more (please also fee free to bring special items like a backpack or lunchpail that you want to remember at this stage in your child’s life)
These minis are designed for school-aged children starting at preschool age
The minis are only for past clients (must have had a session with Heidi Bolles Photography previously)
Approx. 2-3 weeks after the minis, each child will receive 5 edited digital images (photographer’s choice…no proofing gallery)
Again, I hope you all know how appreciative I am for each session that you book with me, and this is my little way of saying thank you for your continued support!!! :)
This session is one of my new favorites since we were able to get so many great images of handsome Preston AND so many beautiful family photos!!! I love when Moms and Dads will step in front of the camera too, and this is why…
Love baby smiles…
Ummm…I can’t believe that Preston is not only looking at the camera, but SMILING! He is going to be one smart boy! Congratulations to this wonderful family of three. :)
Last night we tucked in our little four-year-old girl and this morning we woke up to a VERY excited FIVE-YEAR-OLD who was ready to celebrate!!! June is always such a busy month for us with tons of birthdays, our wedding anniversary, Father’s Day, Graduation, and dance recitals… that it never really hits me that Dylan is turning another year older until the day of her birthday. I’ve been staring at her all day long and I can’t figure out where the past five years have gone.
As Dylan ran to the table this morning I could barely get in one photo before she started opening presents (didn’t even have my contacts in yet, but at least I got one shot)!
Then we were off to Build-a-Bear for a fun birthday suprise! Those workers that sing for you there and make such a huge deal about stuffing those animals deserve a medal!!!
Snuck in a little Monster’s University after that (instantly regretted the ‘tub’ of popcorn, sour candy, and ice cream that we somehow we got talked into by the birthday girl). Oh, and thanks iphone for the amazing photo!!!
When we were finally back home, it was time for a little princess cake and I LOVED Dylan’s expression when she saw it! These are the moments every parent hopes for right?
I am so excited for the year ahead, and hope it’s full of all the wonderful things you could possibly wish for. :)
Happy Birthday Dylan! We love you sooooooooooooooo much!!! Now it’s time for Mommy to go eat the rest of your cake clean up after your birthday celebration! :)
