This San Juan Capistrano family photo session definitey kept me on my toes. Sweet Avalon was turning one, and her beautiful family wanted to document this precious time. However, on the day of the session, Avalon was not feeling it. It was absolutely a team effort to get those smiley and cuddly embraces we were hoping for. The funny thing is that we ended up with so many great ones, and I have a ton of favorites from this gallery! Sometimes I wish I had a video of all the behind-the-scenes jumping/singing/begging-for-smiles-craziness. :) Whatever we did, it was worth it!
Remember that little contest I have every year with a free session giveaway? This family was the winner! Admittedtly, the session didn’t start out so great. In fact, about twenty minutes before we were supossed to start, I received a text saying their litle boy just threw up in the car, followed by a picture of him covered in what once was mac ‘n cheese (sorry for the visual)! This Mom is amazing though. She managed to find the same shirt at a nearby store and the entire family rallied for an amazing session! Having known the Dad since high school, we were able to laugh and have fun (well, I know he doesn’t like having his picture taken, but I definitely had fun seeing them all again). :) What resulted were some of my new favorite images…
When I showed up to photograph baby Rachel I knew right where to set up since I had photographed her big brother in the exact same spot just a couple of years ago! It’s so surreal to watch these beautiful families grow…to document there first few days as a family. Thank you G family for inviting me into your home once again. Rachel is just perfect!
I have been photographing this amazing family since little Emmery was in her Mommy’s tummy! This mini session was particularly fun because we were able to focus solely on the girls and capture them just as they are at this sweet age. I love watching their sisterly love grow as they get older. They are very lucky to have each other, and I’m very lucky to be able to photograph a little piece of their childhood.
This little guy was celebrating his first birthday and was THECUTESTBIRTHDAYBOY!!! All smiles and so sweet, we couldn’t believe how good he was being in front of my camera. His Mom also brought along amazingly fun props that made for a great jungle-themed first birthday session! :)
I apologize to my family in Boston for posting a beach session in the middle of winter! If it helps, it really WAS a bit chilly out and I had to wear a light sweater. :)
I’ve known this beautiful Mama since we were on the high school cheer team way too many years ago! It’s amazing to see her now, surrounded by her handsome boys, still looking as gorgeous as ever. I loved the brief moments we had to catch up inbetween chasing the boys around! It was so much fun to see you again Roya, and great to know that you are surrounded by so much love.
The best part about photographing this family is that you can feel the love beaming through the lens. They smile big, they hug big, and they love big. It’s always fun to see them and to capture the love that they share. Thank you all for another amazing session! XOXO
Confession #1: I am seriously behind on blogging. I canNOT believe I haven’t blogged this fun session yet. I always look forward to seeing this family as we laugh throughout the entire session! Since we knew that their youngest isn’t the biggest fan of being photographed, we planned a sneak attack photo session. :) The plan was for me to hide behind some trees/bushes and they would sit on a bench in an agreed-upon meeting spot. Then I would start taking photos without him even knowing it. One problem…the trees/bushes were so sparce this time of year they were practically non-existent. I did manage to ‘hide’ behind one tree. Of course he found me right away, but I think he was so confused with why someone was taking his picture while trying to hide, that it kind of worked. At least it made for a funny start to our session (even though I’m sure onlookers thought I was completely crazy). :)
These boys kill me with their cute smiles, button down shirts and ties! It’s always fun to see them for their annual holiday photo session, but also a little bittersweet to see them growing up so fast! Thank you to the entire family…it was great to see you all and I hope you love your photos. :)
